Chris Jackson

Head of Discovery Mind

Chris Jackson is the Head of Schools at Discovery Mind, leading the two kindergartens (DMK) and the primary school (DMPS).

Chris has a teaching degree from Westminster College, Oxford, UK, and brings over two decades of teaching and management experience from Hong Kong international schools. Chris has previously worked for ESF, was a Vice Principal at DMPS, and in his most recent role was the founding principal of a new primary school. Educationally,

Chris aims to support every student at Discovery Mind in their holistic growth, preparing them for future success with a modern and engaging curriculum, and allowing them to ‘discover the world with a global mind’.

Joyce Fong

Head of Kindergarten

Joyce was raised in Canada and brings over 18 years of experience in early childhood education across local and international settings, having served as a teacher, deputy principal, and school principal.

She truly enjoys working with families and students from diverse backgrounds, bridging Eastern and Western perspectives to grow and learn together. As a mother of a six-year-old, she believes that core values and attitudes are best cultivated from an early age. A strong foundation in character and literacy empowers children to make sound choices and become independent learners.

She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s in School Management and Leadership. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and practicing yoga for mental and physical well-being.

Phyllis Tsang

Assistant Head of Kindergarten

Phyllis grew up in Canada and has over 20 years of experience in early childhood education. Educated internationally, she believes that learning through play builds children’s confidence and creativity. She holds that nurturing character and confidence is more important than early academic results, as it shapes future success. Recognizing and building on each child’s strengths boosts their confidence and supports their learning and hobbies.

Previously, Phyllis has spent 17 years at an International Kindergarten in Hong Kong as a teacher and in leadership roles. She holds a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s in Special Education. In her free time, she enjoys candle making and calligraphy.
